A city known for its vibrant food scene, Montreal is no stranger to upscale, trendy hotspots. Prior to Hang’s opening, missing from the equation was Vietnamese fine cuisine. The Vietnamese cuisine served at Hang is elevated from its usual humble “mom and pop” eateries to a refined haute cuisine experience that celebrates the unique flavors of the Southeast Asian country. Our guests are fittingly welcome to come “hang with us” and indulge in a culinary journey that reflects Vietnam’s rich heritage with an innovative spin on favorite dishes.
Hang is a collaboration between the JEGantic Group and Marylyn Tran, owner of Tran Cantine, the darling of the local Vietnamese food scene, and well-respected for her ability to modernize while honoring Vietnamese recipes and traditions. The name chosen for this restaurant, “Hang”, has both the positive connotation of gathering at a neighborhood hangout, as well as being named in celebration of Marilyn’s mother, who is the reigning matriarch of the Tran Cantine enterprise.
The culinary experience at Hang highlights the best of Vietnam. We offer Vietnamese haute cuisine with recipes passed down by generations of the Tran family, complete with an elevated twist, integrating novel creations that utilize cherished Vietnamese flavors and textures. Doubling as an upscale mixology lounge, our mixologists combine Vietnamese spices, flavors, aromas, and ingredients into our cocktails. Also on our beverage menu, are a variety of DIY MIX platters that offer guests a hands-on experience to create their own specialty cocktail(s) at their table.
